William McKinley signs his full name as President to this military document dated 16 July 1898, appointing Charles S. Haight to the position of ''Second Lieutenant of Artillery''. Document is countersigned by Secretary of War, Russell Alger, and Adjutant General, Henry Clark Corbin. Signed ''William McKinley'' at right, document also includes blue war office seal at left. Measures 21'' x 16''. Folds, minor creasing and three small holes, overall very good condition.
