Grammy nominee award medal cast in bronze, bestowed in 1973 at the 15th annual Grammys. Front of medal bears the trademark image of the phonograph and reads, ''NATIONAL ACADEMY of RECORDING ARTS and SCIENCES''. Engraved inscription on verso reads, ''IN APPRECIATION / ROD McKUEN / 'THE GRAMMY AWARD SHOW' / TELECAST 1973''. McKuen wrote over 1,500 songs, performed by the likes of Barbra Streisand, Chet Baker, Johnny Cash and Frank Sinatra. Measures 3'' in diameter and weighs 209 g. or 7.4 oz. Comes housed in hinged wooden box with felt lining. Near fine condition.
