Smith was the son of Church founder Joseph Smith's brother Hyrum Smith, and was the last Church President to have known Joseph Smith. Smith signs and dedicates the sepia photo of himself, ''Judge Elbert H. Gary / With compliments and sincere regard of Joseph F. Smith / Sept. 10th 1917''. Photo measures 8.25'' x 11.5'', matted and framed to 20.5'' x 23.5''. Very faint toning from previous framing, else near fine.
