15th century French ''Book of Hours'' illuminated manuscript. Each side of the 5'' x 7.25'' vellum page contains 15 lines of Latin text written in brown ink on lines ruled in red. An illuminated initial is 2 lines high in burnished gold; rubrics are in red and capitals are touched in yellow. The delicate margin foliage design, decorated in red, blue, green and gilt inks, was a common illustration element in the 15th century. Minor foxing and dampstaining, overall very good condition.
