Lot of ten checks signed by Barry Goldwater, the political figure credited with igniting the modern conservative movement. The 6'' x 2.75'' checks are all dated 25 March 1986 and drawn on the Valley National Bank of Phoenix, Arizona. Goldwater, serving his last term as Senator from Arizona in 1986, sponsored the Goldwater-Nichols Act at this time, which changed the Defense Department chain of command. Punch and staple holes, and some ink smudging, else near fine.
