Typed letter signed by Russian revolutionary and philosopher Leon Trotsky, written from his place of exile in Prinkipo on the Turkish island of Buyukada. Written in French on 25 May 1933, letter translates, ''I 'entrust' to your experienced hands Mr. Van Heijenoort and I am sure he will receive such useful advice as I have received from you. Accept, Mr. Professor, my highest consideration. [signed] Leon Trotsky''. Jean Louis Maxime Van Heijenoort was Trotsky's secretary and bodyguard until 1939, and became a Trotskyite contributor to revolutionary newspapers. Letter measures 9'' x 7''. Folds and very light wear to edges and corners. Very good.
