Photograph of Truman Capote and his aunt, taken in 1963 in Capote's hometown of Monroeville, Alabama, where he was writing his true crime masterpiece ''In Cold Blood''. Black and white photograph, taken by Capote's cousin Jennings Carter, features a smiling Capote embracing his favorite aunt Mary Ida Faulk Carter. Matte photo is tucked into a paper card-style mat bearing the name of the Vantone portrait studio. Measures 4'' x 6''. Near fine. The same photograph from Vantone Portraits is currently exhibited at the Monroe County Heritage Museum in Alabama.
