Typed letter from Egypt's Minister of Public Works to the Legation of Sweden, regarding a coveted permit to visit King Tut's tomb before its opening to the public. Letter in French translates in part, ''Excellency, In response to your letter of January 9, 1924, I have the honor to submit herewith for your excellence an entry card in the name of Eira Hellberg to allow her to visit the tomb of Tut-Ankh-Amon. Please accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration. The Secretary General''. Unsigned letter is instead stamped with the seal of the Egyptian Ministry of Public Works. Single page letter measures 8.25'' x 13''. Toning and pencil notations to upper portion. Very good.
