French Egyptologist Georges Emile Jules Daressy document signed and autograph letter signed as curator of the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities in Cairo. 9 July 1917 document is addressed to the Secretary General of the Public Works Ministry, and reads, ''Sir, I beg to forward an application from Hassan Eff. Hosny attached to this Service, for 15 days' ordinary leave to be spent in Egypt, to commence from 16th August 1917 which I propose to approve if it is admissible. Acting Director General, Antiquities Department. [signed] G Daressy''. Measures 8.75'' x 6.75''. Very good with pinholes to upper left. Autograph letter signed in French translates in part, ''Note: After the 8th article...on travel expenses, no travel expenses will be paid to civil servants, unless they sign a statement the month after they return home, before the eighth of the month declaring their absence...otherwise they will get a fine...G Daressy''. Measures 5.5'' x 8''. Scattered notations, else near fine.
