Typed letter signed by ''Godfather'' author Mario Puzo to his literary agent Evarts Ziegler about an apparently unproduced Paul Newman movie. Letter, hand-dated 24 March 1976, reads in part: ''Here is the treatment for the Columbia Picture -- Paul Newman and George Englund. I think it's right on the nose. I'm waiting to hear what you think of it, however...'' Puzo handwrites ''Best'' and then signs ''Mario'' in black ink. Letter measures 8.5'' x 11''. Folds from mailing and some toning, else near fine.
