President Theodore Roosevelt and First Lady Edith Roosevelt official invitation to a reception held at the White House on the evening of 16 February 1905. Invitation card is accompanied by its original envelope and has a gilt embossed Presidential seal to the top. Invitation reads in full, ''The President and Mrs. Roosevelt request the pleasure of the company of Captain Henry at a reception to be held at the White House Thursday evening, February the sixteenth nineteen hundred and five from nine to half after ten o'clock''. Original envelope has ''Capt. Morton J. Henry / War Department'' handwritten on the front. Invitation card measures 5.5'' x 4.75''. Envelope measures 6'' x 5''. Some toning and wear to the envelope. Invitation is near fine.
