Lot of ceremonial material from the funeral of King George VI, held 15 February 1952. The King's struggles were highlighted in the Oscar-winning film ''The King's Speech''. He was succeeded by his daughter Elizabeth, who still reigns as Queen to this day. Lot includes: (1) Black-bordered printed invitation with blind embossed seal of the Earl Marshal of England, filled out in manuscript inviting Mr. Kingsbury Smith Esq. to the funeral. ''Gentlemen / Full Dress with Trousers / Ladies / Morning Dress'' is crossed out at bottom. Measures 8'' x 13''. Mailing folds, otherwise near fine; (2) 40pp. printed booklet from the funeral, listing the ceremonial order of the procession of the royal family. Booklet contains a large 4'' x 5'' British Royal seal depicting the familiar lion and unicorn on cover. Cover reads: ''Ceremonial / to be observed at the Funeral of / His Late Majesty / King George the Sixth / of Blessed Memory / February 15th, 1952''. Printed by Harrison & Sons Printers, booklet also contains a numerical ink notation on blank rear cover, written in unknown hand. Black-bordered cover has lower right corner missing, and minor chips at edges. Near fine.
