Dated 27 December 1944 as Fleet Admiral and Chief of Naval Operations, King writes to an author, turning down his request to pen a forward to a book on oil. In part ''...The dissemination of information concerning the importance of petroleum to the general welfare of our country and to the vital part it plays in warfare is important.
