This first of Hoover's three-volume memoirs covers his early life and career before he became 31st President of the United States. Autograph inscription to front free endpaper in blue ink reads in full, ''To my good friend / Roy Young / from Herbert Hoover''. Young served as chairman of the Federal Reserve Board during the start of the Great Depression. Bound in blue cloth boards with gilt lettering. Runs 496pp. Measures 6.25'' x 9.5''. Light wear to boards and faint toning, else near fine.
