Sal Mineo autograph letter signed, dated 5 May 1955 with great ''Rebel Without a Cause'' content. Addressed to ''Nance'', most likely his cousin, Nancy Harlowe. Reads in full: ''Hi Nance, I hope you won't be too angry with me for not writing to you. As you know I went right into 'Rebel Without a Cause' after 'Major Benson'. So I've been very very busy. I haven't gone out with Ralph Campos yet, I've been so busy. It's a wonderful part for me so I want to give it all the time I have. Now some people say it was type casting, you see I'm a boy with a case of mental illness. In udder words I'm cuck coo. Well how the hell have you been. Do you realize I've been out here for 15 wks, thats a long time. I miss Juliets and of course I miss Nance. Everybody out here has a bad sense of humor so I'm not getting stale with my jokes. I hope you and Johnnie are together again because he's alright. He's on the ball. I don't know him but he's alrighty. Well doll I hope to be back before summer vacation. Would you get me the boys' and girls' addresses so I can write to them. Only the ones that I like. [?] doll. Love 'SAM' SAL''. Letter on one page, front and verso, measures 5'' x 8''. Some discoloration, folds and a chip to top center. Overall very good.
