Lot of 10 typed letters signed by William Howard Taft. Each letter is signed, ''Wm. H. Taft''. Correspondences are addressed to Taft's personal friend Ed Bok, a Pulitzer Prize-winning writer and editor of the ''Ladies Home Journal'' magazine. Lot ranges in date from 30 April 1913 to 8 May 1924, spanning Taft's first post-presidential year through the middle of his term as Chief Justice of the United States. One letter is WWI-dated as 2 April 1917 and contains a war-related discussion. Sent to Bok from New Haven, Connecticut, where Taft was teaching law at Yale, letter pertains to an item in support of the American Red Cross to Bok's magazine, ''...I also received a letter from Mr. Dudley Harmon enclosing the Red Cross page for the 'Ladies Home Journal' which I have gone over and signed...'' All single-page letters measure approximately 8'' x 10.25''. Some light toning and creasing, else near fine.
