Frontis photo is signed ''Theodore Roosevelt'', and depicts the president in full ''Rough Rider'' regalia, the embodiment of his famed rugged outdoorsman persona captured by veteran Civil War photographer George G. Rockwood. Limited to 1,000 copies, this is number 695. Generously illustrated with 55 plates, chapters include ''Ranching in the Bad Lands,'' ''Water Fowl,'' ''Deer of the River Bottoms'' and ''The Lordly Buffalo.'' Runs 476pp. with deckled edges. Bound in beige cloth boards with gilt lettering and a moose head design. Foxing and toning throughout, sunning to spine and wear to boards. Overall good plus condition.
