Lyndon B. Johnson signed first edition of his memoir ''The Vantage Point: Perspectives of the Presidency 1963-1969,'' Holt, Rinehart and Winston: New York, Chicago, San Francisco: 1971. Signed ''Lyndon B. Johnson'' in black tip upon a Presidential bookplate affixed to the fly-leaf. Bookplate features the presidential seal with LBJ's initials in gilt. Johnson here recounts his experience in executive office from his succession in the wake of JFK's shocking assassination through his second term. Runs 636pp. Bound in red cloth boards with blue print in an unclipped dustjacket. Measures 6.5'' x 9.5''. Some dust or soiling to board edges. Near fine. Dustjacket shows toning and a chip to the top of the spine. Very good.
