Marc Connelly autograph poetry signed. The Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright of Algonquin Round Table fame inscribes, ''Someday, Mary, when you find / Your baby days are far behind / Read. And learn that once this clock / Had the name of Ticky-Tock. / You may not remember that / You gave Ticky-Tock a pat / (Of approval, I suppose) / And touched it with your tiny nose; / Putting on it such a spell / That from then on it could tell / Only that one time of day / When you stole its heart away. / For the other things you've known / Clocks have ticked, and years have flown / (Even as one breathes again / What is Now turns into Then.) / But there's no such thing as Time / For the Mary of my rhyme / Always Ticky-Tock somehow / Says, 'You are enchanting Now!' / Marc Connelly''. Single-page poem on verso of a teddy bear photo measures 7.25'' x 8.25''. Partial pencil sketch to the bottom edge and irregular right edge, else near fine.
