Handwritten notes by President Richard Nixon. Notes are from a collection of handwritten Nixon documents collected by Nixon's biographer and New York Herald Tribune political journalist Earl Mazo, who wrote, ''Richard Nixon: A Political and Personal Portrait''. Published in 1959, the book's source material was written near or before 1958. Nixon was Vice President at the time. This sheet reads in pencil, ''Points to emphasize - [illegible] / 1. Peace - / 2. strong, intelligent people - / 3. Better Life - does not / mean a softer life - 4. What do we want? - / 1) Housing - / 2) Security in [illegible] / 3) Opportunity to contribute to / a growing expanding / dynamic economy - / 4) Make decision - not / just fit into a pattern / set by a few - / 5. Idealistic as well as material''. A note on the side reads, ''not the / protect those who / can't care for them[selves]...'' Runs 1pp. Measures 5.5'' x 5.75''. Perforation runs through center. Two small stains to center. Near fine overall.
