General Douglas MacArthur typed letter signed, dated 6 March 1963 from New York. He thanks a Mr. Hanks for sending birthday greetings. The five star general had had his 83rd birthday in January 1963, and only lived to see one more. He signs, "Most cordially, Douglas MacArthur". Minor soiling to single page, 10.5" x 8" letter, else very good. 9.5" x 4" envelope with a Department of the Army return address shows significant soiling, else very good.
