Letter from a prisoner inside the first Nazi concentration camp, Dachau, dated 12 January 1940. A Stanislaus Flak writes in pen on the official Dachau stationery, "…[In German] Thank you for your last letter I received…it isn't too cold…Stanislaus". Stationery contains rules about mail to prisoners and advises that requests for release are "useless." Dachau was built to house political prisoners 51 days after Hitler took power. Letter measures 5.75" x 8.25". Some toning, slight chipping and wear to edges. Overall very good condition.
