General Lucius D. Clay signs this letter dated 26 April 1947. Clay responds to a John C. Trevor, "…I trust my signature to this letter will comply with you request for my autograph…[signed] Lucius Clay…" At the time of signing, Clay served as commander in chief, U.S. Forces in Europe and military governor of the U.S. Zone. Letter on "Headquarters, European Command" stationery measures 8" x 10.5". Tape remnants to top corners; very good condition.
