Pearl S. Buck signed copy of her novel ''The Patriot'', published by the John Day Company: New York: 1939. The fly-leaf is signed, ''Pearl S. Buck'' in blue ink. Buck's tale set in revolutionary China in 1926 spans twelve years, following a young man who marries a Japanese woman only to fight Japan's subsequent invasion of China. Runs 372pp. and measures 6'' x 8.25''. Bound in butterscotch cloth boards with gilt lettering. Minor cocking to spine and wear to exterior, especially at board edges and corners. Overall very good plus.
