Lot of 4 WWII silk escape maps issued to U.S. Air Force pilots. Detailed, double-sided maps of Europe for use in a downed aircraft event, comprise (1) map of Holland, most of Belgium, northeast France and central and west Germany. Second side bears maps of southeast France, southwest Germany and Switzerland save for its southeast portion. Colorful map measures 28.75'' square; (2) map of north Portugal and northwest Spain, with verso displaying northeast Spain and southwest France. Rust and azure colored map measures 23.75'' x 20.25''; (3) black and white map of France with Germany on verso, measuring 17.5'' x 23''; (4) black and white map of northern Africa containing Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Italian Libya and Spanish Rio de Oro, with verso displaying Spain, Portugal and the Mediterranean Sea. Measures 23'' x 18. Creasing to all maps from folding and minor fraying to the edges of the first two, else near fine overall.
