Rare Tejano Music Award bestowed upon singing legend Selena in 1996 for Song of the Year. The Tejano Music Awards honor Latin music and Selena became one of the show's all-time top-winning artists. Her song ''Tu Solo Tu'' took home the coveted award at the 16th annual ceremony. Awarded posthumously, as the Latin icon one year prior at the young age of 23 was killed by the former president of her fan club. Award features a lucite star perched atop a lucite pyramid-shaped hollow base with two separate plaques perched inside, the first engraved, ''Song of the Year / Tu Solo Tu / F. Valdez Leal - Selena y Los Dinos / TTMA March 23, 1996'', and the second behind it, ''Tejano Music Awards San Antonio''. Measures 8'' x 9'' x 5.75'' deep. Very minor glue residue visible through lucite beneath star, else near fine condition overall.
