American Cinema Editors Award trophy presented to distinguished film editor Dorothy Spencer in 1989. Career Achievement Award recognizes Spencer as a fixture of Hollywood from the early days of talking pictures through the studio system. A four-time Oscar nominee, she worked with directors John Ford, Alfred Hitchcock, Ernst Lubitsch, Henry Hathaway, Tay Garnett and Mark Robson. Award is a sculpture-in-the-round, depicting a male figure wearing a simple sash and holding the logo of the American Cinema Editors. Figure stands on a black rectangular base, all encased in a Lucite block with soft beveled edges. A plaque affixed to the front of the base reads, ''The American Cinema Editors / Career Achievement Award / Presented To / Dorothy Spencer / March 18, 1989''. Accompanied by the program from the ceremony. Award measures 3.25'' x 10.75'' x 2.25''. Weighs 3 pounds, 12 ounces. Near fine. From the estate of Dorothy Spencer.
