Arthur Schlesinger typed letter signed. The Pulitzer Prize-winner's letter to one Thomas Parry in North Carolina is dated 30 October 1975. Upon City University of New York stationery, it reads in full, "Dear Mr. Parry: You can find an account of the origins of my friendship with President Kennedy and the circumstances in which he invited me to serve as special assistant in the early chapters of 'A Thousand Days'. As for the Warren Commission, it does seem to me that its investigation was in several respects inadequate, and I feel that the nation is entitled to know the truth insofar as it can be ascertained. Sincerely yours, [signed] Arthur Schlesinger". Single-page letter is mounted and measures 7.25" x 10.5". Red pen streak near letterhead and crease to lower right, else near fine.
