D.W. Griffith personally owned and worn brown pinstriped suit. Griffith is the director of the hotly controversial film, "The Birth of a Nation", released in 1915. Lauded for its pioneering advancements in the nascent medium of film, it is also condemned for its pro-Confederate content. Griffith countered the negative publicity with his next film, "Intolerance", a masterpiece in its own right. Lot comprises a double-breasted jacket, measuring 18" across the chest, and a pair of cuffed trousers in approximate size 32 x 27, with button fly and gear for suspenders sewn into the waistband. Near fine. Originally from the Park Place Museum of Louisville, KY.
