Lyndon B. Johnson signed first edition of his memoir ''The Vantage Point,'' Holt, Rinehart and Winston: New York, Chicago, San Francisco: 1971. A Presidential bookplate bearing his signature in black ink ''Lyndon B. Johnson'' is affixed to the dedication page and features the presidential seal with LBJ's initials in gilt. Johnson here recounts his experience in executive office from his succession in the wake of JFK's shocking assassination through his second term. Runs 636pp. Bound in red cloth boards with blue print in original dustjacket. Measures 6.5'' x 9.5''. Fly-leaf is dedicated to the National Weather Service in Austin from a local media station and is signed by Austin journalist Jim McNabb. Spine is cocked ever so slightly, else fine. Dustjacket shows toning and scattered small bits of surface loss with minor tears along top edge. Very good.
