Charles Rene Magon de Medine, who died during the battle of Trafalgar in command of the Algesiras, signs this 1799 order at the port of Brest for the ship Le Mont-Blanc. Signed "Magon" at the conclusion. During the battle of Trafalgar, Medine held his post for five hours despite being shot twice; his name now appears on the Arc de Triomphe. Document measures 8" x 6.5". Light toning, else fine condition.
