Booklet entitled "Biographical Sketch of Dr. George Loring Porter," inscribed by Porter to Louis Weichmann, the prosecution's witness at the trial of Lincoln's killers. Dr. Porter "had medical charge" of the conspirators and was present at their execution as well as at John Wilkes Booth's burial. Porter inscribes the front page, "With the compliments of the subject…Feb. 1 1897". Booklet provides a history of Porter's controversial service to his country. Separation to folds of 5.75" x 8.75" eight page booklet, else very good.
