J. Edgar Hoover signs his "Masters of Deceit: The Story of Communism in America and How to Fight It." Henry Holt and Co.: New York: 1958. The FBI Director signs on the front free endpaper, "To C.R. Byers / Best wishes / J. Edgar Hoover / 8.30.60". In the late 1950's, Hoover's zealous hunt for communists was in full swing. 5.75" x 8.5" volume with original unclipped dustjacket is in very good condition.
