Herbert Hoover signed first edition of "The Problems of Lasting Peace." Doubleday, Doran and Company, Inc.: Garden City: 1942. Hoover inscribes the front free endpaper: "To Mr. John Reedler with the Good Wishes of Herbert Hoover" to which the coauthor adds, "& Hugh Gibson". Writing during World War II, the authors hoped to "…stimulate American discussion and to clarify thinking…" about planning for peace. 5.75" x 8" book with unclipped dustjacket is in very good condition.
