Autograph letter signed from a prisoner in Sachsenhausen concentration camp. Letter is stamped with the date 13 February 1944, just over a year before the camp was liberated by Soviet forces. The sender lists his information to verso, including date of birth as ''8.6.08'', followed by ''#63654 Bloc 1a Hei. / Oranienburg Near Berlin.'' He writes to Natalia Grezygiet in Warsaw. Written in German as required, letter translates in full to, ''My dear Nadecko! I am well and feel good, I hope you are too. I am very happy that you are all healthy and that you're well. The parcels I have thankfully received. I am very thankful. I am writing to you every other week but as of today I still have not yet received any response. I also received the parcels from my mother and the parcels from Saba for Christmas. This all makes me very happy. I wrote to them right away. My best greetings to you, Stefan, Gienia and family. Kisses. Dearly yours...'' Single-page letter on delicate concentration camp stationery measures approximately 5'' x 8''. Toning and blurring to ink from a pair of water stains (not affecting legibility). Very good.
