D-Day mastermind Bernard Montgomery signed first edition of ''Forward to Victory,'' a compilation of his WWII speeches delivered to his soldiers. Hutchinson & Co: London: 1946. Handwritten note on front free endpaper dated 10 November 1946 reads, ''To: F.W. Heath to whose initiative this small volume is due / Montgomery of Alamein Field-Marshal.'' Crimson red linen boards feature gilt lettering. Measures 5.5'' x 8.75.'' Very good plus condition.
