Dated 8 December 1830, deed is engraved ''United States of America'' across the top and has official paper seal and large signature by Jackson. Vellum document grants John Van Ness of Indiana eighty acres in Palestine, Illinois. Document measures 16'' x 9.75''. Foxing and chipping along folds, some spotting across top. Overall in good condition.
