Orson Welles typed letter signed with corrections in his hand. Undated letter to LA film columnist Kendis Rochlen is addressed ''Dearest Kendis'' in Welles' hand and reads, ''This is about the ill-omened Question-and-Answer session with the kids from that college...I've finally found a set-up which will make it possible to do this in the intimate, surrounded, mini-amphitheatre way you recommend. It also (and here I know I'm striking a responsive chord) will accommodate a full hour and a half, or two-hour symposium or seminar or whatever - just on the subject of FILM, and just for them. This is so because the costs for this arrangement are a good deal lower and there won't be any need to keep on a large union crew during the Cinema discussion. Here's the choice of dates: Thursday the 7th Friday the 8th or Sunday the 10th. Saturday is a maybe, and if they strongly prefer that day I think I can fix it. I'll phone to hear the reaction in the late afternoon...Oh, and the hours can be of their choosing! All my fondest / [signed] Orson''. 1pp. letter measures 5.75'' x 7.75''. Accompanied by envelope. Creasing and bleeding to the ink of the ''O'' in signature, else fine.
