Cesar Romero's costume from the first season of ABC's television series, ''Batman.'' Opera clown costume was worn by Romero in the role of the Joker. Comprises a long champagne satin tunic with applied black pompom buttons along the front, matching billowing pants, a clown's ruff made of beige netting, and a cone-shaped clown's hat with a single black pompom. Designed to resemble the tragic clown ''Pagliacci'' from Leoncavallo's opera, and seen in ''The Joker is Wild'' which first aired on 26 January 1966. Near fine condition.
