Former Nazi, Albert Speer typed letter signed, dated 9 June 1973. Speer compares Germany to the U.S. with his American acquaintance Elaine Lincoln, ''...[in German] The four children spoke, although they were only 3 to 8 years old when they came back to Germany, 'beautiful' Chicago slang. We recently asked them if they would rather live in Germany or there, and they chose Chicago. Reason being, the good camaraderie and neighborhood they found there, which is not found here to such extent...[signed] Albert Speer''. Folded document on Speer's personal letterhead measures 8.25'' x 11.5''. Some creasing, else near fine condition. Original envelope and full translation included.
