William Taft typed letter signed as Chief Justice on Supreme Court stationery, dated 16 February 1924. Writing to Edward Bok, Taft references General Jan Smuts, then South African Prime Minister. He encloses a letter from Yale President James Angell regarding a visit by Smuts. In part, ''...I send you...a letter from President Angell...and a letter of mine...that you may forward both...as you may deem wise and useful...With very best wishes...Wm H Taft''.
