Rutherford B. Hayes autograph letter signed, dated 12 May 1886 from Fremont, Ohio, to ''Edward W. Bok'', the editor of ''The Brooklyn Magazine.'' Hayes writes in part: ''...Your treatment of the article is altogether satisfactory...I am glad to gratify you, and to be of record on the right side of a great issue...I thank you for the numbers of your magazine you have sent me...'' He signs: ''R.B. Hayes.'' Four page card style letter, measuring 5.5'' x 8.5'', shows minor toning, else near fine.
