Dwight D. Eisenhower typed letter signed, dated 5 June 1942 on ''War Department'' stationery. Here, Eisenhower writes to his brother, Edgar, discussing their mother's summer visit: ''...With respect to the the possible restrictions on railroad transportation, it would appear that they would not be so severe as to prevent an elderly lady from returning to her own home...'' Signed boldly in black ink, ''Your Brother, Dwight''. Letter measures 7'' x 9'' on one page with minor creasing and folds throughout. Very good condition.
