Douglas MacArthur signed copy of ''MacArthur, His Rendezvous With History'', also signed by its author General Courtney Whitney. Alfred A. Knopf: New York: 1956. First edition, later printing. The five-star general's autobiography is signed and inscribed, ''For Leslie Gould / With Best Wishes / Douglas MacArthur'' and beneath, ''Courtney Whitney'' upon the front free endpaper. MacArthur's story of his life from his time in the Philippines during WWII through the post-Korean War era runs 547pp. Book measures 6.5'' x 9.5'', bound in rust colored cloth boards with a blue spine. Pages are clean and boards have little wear. Clipped dustjacket has some chipping and small tears forming along top and bottom edges. Very good to near fine.
