King George V coronation collection from his 1911 ceremony at Westminster Abbey. This original lot was for invitee George Franklin, ex-mayor of Sheffield, and includes: (1) official command invitation in calligraphy reading in part ''Coronation of Their Majesties King George the Fifth and Queen Mary'', featuring their royal crests and a drawing of a winged woman holding the royal scepter. On thick card stock measuring 13.5'' x 11.25''; (2) letter from Earl Marshall's Office spelling out the regulations at Westminster Abbey on the day of the coronation. Measures 7.5'' x 9.5''; (3) official red admission card with royal seal and Westminster Abbey map on verso. Measures 8'' x 6''; (4) carriage regulations pamphlet by the Metropolitan Police. Measures 5.5'' x 8.75''; (5-6) two booklets for both the ceremony and service, mounted to cardboard measuring in full 8.5'' x 7.25''; (7-9) three telegrams from the Earl Marshall informing him of the forthcoming invitation. Each mounted to cardboard measuring 9.25'' x 6.25''. Staining to booklet covers and foxing to invitation not affecting image. Overall very good condition.
