Eleanor Roosevelt signed ''This I Remember'' published by Harper & Brothers: New York: 1949. Roosevelt's autograph inscription in black ink to the front free endpaper reads, ''To Mrs. Preston Leigh, For whose friendly [?] encouragement I am deeply grateful, with my good wishes / Eleanor Roosevelt''. In this memoir, widely considered the greatest ever written by a First Lady, Roosevelt chronicles her life from 1924 to 1945. Book runs 387pp. Bound in blue cloth boards with gilt lettering. Measures 6.5'' x 9.5''. Toning to leaves and sunning to backstrip. Very good. Dustjacket is unclipped and shows chipping and tears to edges with sunning to backstrip and staining to rear flap hinge. Good.
