President Richard Nixon typed letter signed to Congressman Bill Young on 12 June 1973, while the Watergate hearings were being nationally televised and just after John Dean gave explosive testimony that he had discussed the ''cover-up'' with Nixon at least 35 times. Nixon writes in part ''...In my mind, your remarks on the floor of the House on June 6 truly epitomize your deep understanding of the American system...I sincerely appreciate your setting forth these great principles so clearly and succinctly...'' Signed with initials ''RN'' on White House letterhead. 1pp. measures 6.75'' x 8.75''. Near fine.
