Bestselling author Stephen King signed first edition, first printing of his horror classic ''The Shining.'' Doubleday & Company: Garden City, NY: 1977. King signs in black ink upon the front free endpaper dated 23 January 1992. This was King's third published novel, after the popular ''Salem's Lot'' and ''Carrie.'' Bound in black and gold cloth boards, with gilt lettering on backstrip. First printing mark R49 on the final page 447. Unclipped dustjacket lists the price of $8.95. Includes customer satisfaction card from the Stanley Hotel, the historic Colorado building that inspired King's location choice for the novel. Book measures 5.75'' x 8.5''. Slight bumping to backstrip and minor creasing to dustjacket. Near fine.
