Peter Arno hand-drawn, hand-captioned and signed cartoon. Arno was the popular cartoonist for ''The New Yorker'' magazine for forty years and creates this humorous scene for Mary MacArthur, daughter of actress Helen Hayes. Arno draws two Victorian ladies walking below a window that shows a silhouette of a girl. The caption reads ''Whoops! It's that / MacArthur hussy again, / makin' an expectacle / of 'erself! / Peter Arno / 1942''. Rendered on a blank book page measuring 7'' x 8.25''. Light curling to edge, else image near fine.
