Franklin D. Roosevelt signed ''The Democratic Book 1936'', published by the Democratic National Party. Volume is signed ''Franklin D. Roosevelt'' to the limitation page, above a statement identifying this as No. ''1939'' of an approximate 2500 printed. Signature in black ink appears beneath a color illustration of the White House. Book was produced as part of FDR's campaign fundraising effort, awarded to contributors of $250 or more and printed with donor's name to the front cover, in this case, ''H. A. Behrens''. Vast text runs 384pp. Bound in brown leather oversize boards with gilt lettering and brown silk moire endpapers. Measures 11.5'' x 14.5''. Leather loss to backstrip and board edges, and with wear to front joint. In good condition with interior very good and signature page near fine. Accompanied by a pair of softcover books from 1932, one for the Democratic National Convention and the other for the Republican National Convention. A comprehensive tribute to FDR and his victorious 1936 election.
